My Story

My name is Francesca Romans, and I am running for Place 6 on the Leander Independent School District Board of Trustees.

I have lived in Texas for most of my life and moved to Leander from Cedar Park in 2015. My husband Lee and I have been married for 17 years and have two sons, both of whom are Leander ISD students. We have gotten the opportunity to work closely with our campuses and programs, including principals, assistant principals, counselors, 504 coordinators, teachers, and QUEST.

Currently, I am serving as a crossing guard, the Communications Chair for the Leander High School PTSA, am in my second year on the School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC), and I am on the Steering Committee for the Citizens' Facility Advisory Committee (CFAC).

I previously served as the Alternative School Support Chair for the Council of PTAs and was a member of the Bond Oversight Committee. I participated in two cycles of the Community Curriculum Advisory Committee (CCAC), and I have also spoken at numerous board meetings in support of our educators.

I believe that public education is the backbone of our society and our communities. The last two pandemic-filled years have demonstrated exactly how much our schools do and how badly they are needed. Look at how much was accomplished during this time thanks to our schools going above and beyond what would be a considered a “traditional” education.  As I trustee, I would work to amplify our student and educator voices, ensure that our district continues to provide needed services, programs, and facilities, increase and improve our community outreach, and work towards a more respectful and balanced relationship with our communities.

I appreciate your consideration, your support, and hopefully your vote in November!
